Thank you!

It’s been almost 10 years since that first bolt of quilting fabric arrived at the Old House and the Quilter’s dream of owning a fabric store came true.  Where does time go?

What a 10 years it has been!  2500 online orders, multiple crafter and trade shows, in-shop sales and a pandemic that found me sewing, seemingly a million masks.  Wow!  None of that would have happened without the support of my fellow fabric lovers and quilters.  Owning a fabric shop has been my dream for many years.  A dream, I was able to see come true.  A dream, that I thank all of my loyal customers for helping me to fulfill.  Thank you for sharing your love of fabrics and sewing, your creativity is inspiring.

Those of you who own businesses know that it is not a one man/woman show.  I’ve had a tribe of helpers who helped to make this dream happen.  A huge thank you to all who’ve helped with quilt shows, cover the shop while I was away, managed the website and Facebook page and especially to my husband, who made thousands of trips to the post office to send off your packages.  This shop definitely would not have been successful without my helpers.

Just as trends that come and go, colors and patterns evolve and change and technology continues to develop, so too must Old House Fabrics and Quilts.  It is with a little bit of sadness but a great deal of optimism that I pass the torch.  This week, Old House Fabrics and Quilts will be under new ownership.  The name and mission of providing quilters with quality supplies will be the same.  The new owners are energetic, with a passion for fabric, quilting and customer service.  I do not worry at all that our customers will be taken care of.  The “new people” truly are fabulous folks.  Watch the website and Facebook pages for updates, from the new owners on exciting new things at Old House.

Now, off I go to my sewing room to cut some fabric and create some quilts.  I humbly  thank you from the bottom of my heart for your years of support.

Fondly,

Sid
